BUREAU of CHANGE to host the 2013 Creative Time Summit: Art, Place, and Dislocation in New Orleans.
Posted by BUREAU of CHANGE in Press
Join BUREAU of CHANGE and CREATIVE TIME for a hyper-local and hyper-global event on the role of artist in shaping cities and public life.
Streaming from NYC – A diverse group of artists, architects, planners, politicians, activists, and theorists from across the globe examine the positive and negative consequences of the widespread belief that the arts are a necessary ingredient in the making and re-making of cities. More than thirty presenters will describe their work on and look at the ways artists might address such issues as gentrification, racialized urbanism, environmental catastrophe, and bottom-up urban planning.
On our corner in New Orleans – We’ll be talking about what’s changed on our block, what’s changed on your block and how we all feel about it. BUREAU apprentices will be here to chat and record your stories. Or you can do it yourself by making a video, writing it down, or submitting it to our Google site.
